Condoms have been used for hundreds of years as contraceptive method, and it is considered one of the cheapest and most effective way in preventing STDs & HIV.
It can offer more than 98% protection against HIV if used in a correct way.
The effectiveness of condom vary between STDs. It offers high protection against diseases that are usually transmitted through the tip of penis like chlamydia, gonorrhoea and HIV. However it offers low protection against diseases that transmitted through skin contact like herpes and warts.
Using lubricants made of water or silicone increase the protection of condoms because it prevent friction.
Beware that oil based lubricants reduce the effectiveness of condoms
Quality of the condom
To ensure the quality of the product and manufacturer, you can take a condom out of the box, fill it with water and observe for any leak as it shown in the picture. Also check for the expiry date. Don’t use the condom after you do this experiment.
How to use condom?
-Carefully open the wrapper and take out the condom
-Hold it between your thumb and index finger & avoid air becoming trapped inside the condom
-Place it on the tip of your fully erect penis
-Unroll it all the way down your penis
-When sex is finished, hold the tip of condom while erected and pull out
